MAP Can Help: Overcoming Addition

Did you know that not all substance abuse treatment facilities are the same? There are a lot of treatment centers that are aimed at making a profit rather than helping patients overcome addiction. Although the centers that offer luxuries like horseback riding and beachfront views can be tempting, they are often not equipped to really help the individual learn how to effectively manage their addiction.

Overcoming substance abuse is something that requires time and hard work. The right facility can help make the process of learning how to deal with addiction easier and can teach patients the steps necessary to have a successful recovery. These centers can also help the families of the individual going through treatment understand how they can be supportive of their loved one.

Local 338’s Member Assistance Program (MAP) can pair people coping with their battle against addiction with treatment centers that are legitimate and want to help them get well. Although calling for help can be difficult, it is the right choice. Our licensed social worker and Director of MAP, Jennifer Lipack, is ready and able to help discuss treatment options and steer those seeking help in the direction of recovery. All calls are completely. For more information, Jennifer can be reached at (516) 294-1338 ext. 1304.
