2018 SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS



June 26, 2018 marks a proud day for Local 338 members and their families who were honored at our annual Scholarship Luncheon. 22 young men and women, who are either Local 338 members or the children of Local 338 members, were recognized for their academic and extracurricular achievements. This year’s scholarship recipients come from a variety of backgrounds and are aiming to enter many different fields, including healthcare, law, accounting, and criminal justice.

Emanuel Laub Scholarship Award

A special congratulation to Erin Horan for winning the Emanuel Laub Scholarship Award, which is named in memory of the Local 338’s late President. Erin will receive a total of $8,000 ($2,000 each year for the next four years) towards her tuition at the University of Scranton to pursue a dual degree in occupational therapy.

Continuing Education Scholarship Award

Local 338’s first ever Continuing Education Scholarship Award recipient is Gregory Lubrano. He was the 2012 Class Valedictorian of Molloy College with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and later earned his Master’s Degree in American history at St. John’s University. Now, he will be returning to St. John’s for law school to pursue a career in constitutional and public interest law.
