Ensuring Holiday Meals for Families in Need

Date: Wednesday November 27, 2019

In keeping up with our annual holiday tradition, Local 338 hosted a turkey donation drive. This year we visited several charitable organizations that work to ensure that all of the members of the communities they serve have the opportunity to enjoy a turkey meal on Thanksgiving.

We delivered over 200 turkeys that were all donated on behalf of members of Local 338. Our donations supported the work of the following organizations:
• East Elmhurst Community School (in partnership with State Senator Jessica Ramos)
• Glebe Senior Center
• Majority Family Life Center (in partnership with New York City Council Member Daneek Miller)
• The Mary Brennan INN
• The Nest at Nassau Community College
• The Food Pantry at Our Lady of Grace (in partnership with State Senator Joseph Addabbo)
• Parkchester Baptist Church, Parkchester Rain Senior Center and Van Nest Neighborhood Alliance (in partnership with Assembly Member Karines Reyes)
• Project Hospitality
• The Food Pantry at Suffolk Community College

By providing these wonderful organizations with donated turkeys, they were able to provide hope and spread holiday cheer to those less fortunate. We are so proud to be able to give back to our communities every day, but especially during the holidays.
