Walk to End Alzheimer’s This Fall

This Fall, join the Alzheimer’s Association for their annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s! The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is the world’s largest fundraiser for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Local 338 members are encouraged to attend a local walk or donate to the Alzheimer’s Association, which is dedicated to finding methods of prevention, treatment, and eventually, a cure for Alzheimer’s.

In addition to raising funds for Alzheimer’s research, the annual walk serves as a way to honor those who have suffered from the disease and helps support individuals currently living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers. Participation in the walk not only contributes to vital research efforts, but it also raises public awareness about the disease, reduces stigma, and encourages conversation about memory disorders.

Members who would like to participate in one of this year’s walks can register for one of the following events:

Saturday, September 23rd, at Suffolk County Farm: act.alz.org/Yaphank

Sunday, October 1st, at Eisenhower Park Field 6/6A: act.alz.org/Nassau

Sunday, October 22nd, at Belmont Lake State Park: act.alz.org/belmontlake

Together, we can find a cure for Alzheimer’s.
