Local 338 members work as bus drivers and monitors for school bus companies that are contracted with school districts and are responsible for ensuring students are get to and from school on time and safely. In addition to negotiating strong union contracts, Local 338 works with our members to make sure they have protections during route selections and guaranteed weeks of work, particularly in event of school closures due to inclement weather and most recently, in response to the pandemic. Additionally, while not working directly for a transportation or bus company, many Local 338 members work in transportation related roles. This includes driving individuals and patients at healthcare facilities between locations and to appointments, as well as transporting cannabis products between dispensaries and cultivation/processing centers.
