Now Collecting Donations for United Way’s Stuff-A-Bus!
Back to school is fast approaching, which means it’s time for the United Way of Long Island’s annual Stuff-A-Bus! The United Way of Long Island is an organization that invests in families and communities across Long Island with a goal of helping disadvantaged families succeed. Their annual Stuff-A-Bus collects school supplies for students in need from people across Long Island. Now in its 16th year, United Way’s Stuff-A-Bus has helped thousands of students across Long Island! Last year’s supply drive gave supplies to over 5,000 students, a goal they’re hoping to surpass in 2024.
Local 338 members have been instrumental in the success of this program. Every year, the members of this union show up for students in need with essential school supplies—pens, pencils, notebooks, crayons, folders, backpacks and more! For members who would like to donate to this year’s drive, we are now collecting school supplies at the Local 338 office in Mineola. There is a donation box in our lobby where members can drop off school supplies—no donation is too small, and all types of school supplies are accepted! If you want to donate but can’t make it to our office, you can reach out to your Union or Funds Representative to schedule a pickup or donate through United Way’s Amazon wish list!
If you are donating through the wish list, supplies will be sent directly to United Way. Thank you once again for donating to this drive—you are helping students across Long Island succeed!
