Give back to kids
We are thrilled to share with you that this year Local 338 is participating in SunriseWALKS Long Island! We want to invite you to join the team and help us make a difference in the lives of children with cancer. Sunrise Day Camps helps make fun summer activities accessible to children battling cancer.

Sunrise Day Camps are part of the Sunrise Association whose mission is to bring back the joys of childhood to children with cancer and their siblings worldwide. Sunrise accomplishes this through the creation and oversight of welcoming, inclusive summer day camps, year-round programs and in-hospital recreational activities, all offered free of charge.

Providing memorable summers since 2006 for children ages 3 1/2 to 18 years old, Sunrise Day Camps brings the simple pleasures of childhood back to children struggling with cancer; changing months of loneliness and isolation into summers filled with sunshine, laughter, and happiness. And because Sunrise is a day camp, it does all this while allowing the children to continue their medical treatment and enjoy the comfort and safety of their own homes at night.

Please consider joining team Local 338 by registering and helping us raise as much funds as possible for these special children through the SunriseWALKS Long Island on Sunday, June 11th at the Sunrise Day Camp - Long Island campgrounds.

It costs about $6,000 to fund a camper for the summer and because of donations from the members of Local 338 and events like SunriseWALKS, Sunrise Day Camps is able to provide hope, fun, and a bit of normalcy to children whose lives have been affected by pediatric cancer.

Every dollar raised will help give these children the most magical summer at Sunrise.

Please feel free to reach out to your Union Representative with any questions you may have.
