Supporting the communities that our members live and work in is incredibly important to the mission of Local 338, which is why we are committed to participating in a number of charitable events and opportunities throughout the year. With the help of our members, we regularly hold donation drives to collect items including coats, food, hygiene products, and school supplies to help the work of food pantries and community organizations, which directly benefits families in need throughout New York State. 

Here are just some of the events that we have participated in over the last year:

Founded in 2014, Local 338 Charitie’s Inc. is a New York state registered 501(c)3 whose mission is to provide assistance and support to union members and their communities. Over the last several years we have helped Local 338 members in times of great personal crises, including those affected by domestic violence, in need of substance use or mental health treatments or have been displaced due to eviction, fire or natural disaster. Local 338 Charities, Inc. also supports the Local 338 Scholarship Program, which has awarded thousands of scholarships to our members and the dependents of our members over the course of several decades to help offset the costs of a higher education and vocational training. 

The Local 338 Charities, Inc. is sustained entirely on generous contributions from community partners. All money raised goes directly to the work of our member assistance and community engagement programs.
